Description
Birm is a granular filter media used for removal of dissolved iron and manganese from raw water supplies. This system features a Fleck 5600SXT digital control valve and includes a 1 inch stainless steel by-pass, 1 cu. ft. of Birm, one sleeve of gravel, and a funnel and cap. Birm acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance oxidation and is cleaned by periodic backwashing without chemical regeneration.
